1 Many exciting tasks await you when doing your vocational training
Theory and practice form an ideal duo during your vocational training - while your colleagues in the law firm share their practical knowledge with you three days a week, you will learn all about the technical basics of your profession at vocational school on the other two days. After completing your vocational training, you will be perfectly prepared for your professional life!

Does this all sound very abstract and complicated to you? No problem, you will quickly understand exactly what these areas are all about. You will also gradually familiarise yourself with the varied tasks of a law associate - learning by doing is the best method here.
For this reason, we will entrust you with practical tasks as a legal assistant right from the start of your vocational training, including the following:
- Preparation of documents, drafts of contracts and presentations
- Electronic file management and deadline monitoring
- Typing up dictations on the computer
- Fee invoicing
- Coordinating meetings and court appointments
- Telephone calls with clients
Of course, you won't be left on your own to do this. Experienced colleagues will help you and gradually show you step by step how to work professionally as a legal assistant using the most modern office communication systems.
Your vocational training will last three years. It includes an intermediate exam after one year and a final exam after three years. You can take the latter earlier if you do particularly well.

So there is no need to shuffle through paper files any more - those days are over. In order for you to get off to a good start outside of the law firm, you will receive an iPhone and an iPad from us, which you can use at vocational school as well as privately.

3 Of course we will support you!
If you are entering the professional world for the first time by starting your vocational training, many things will probably be completely new to you. That's why we at BKS Rechtsanwälte will introduce you to everything step by step. At the same time, we will entrust you with your first tasks - after all, we know that you have a lot on your plate. In this way, we challenge and encourage you at the same time and always keep an eye on where you are in your development.
We will warmly welcome you and your fellow trainees with an introductory day. At this event, we will provide you with initial information to help you find your way around our law firm. You will later gain more in-depth insights into the main areas and structures of BKS Rechtsanwälte at a number of onboarding events.
We want to support you as closely as possible, especially at the beginning of your vocational training, as you will be facing a lot of new things. Your vocational trainer and someone from the HR department will therefore carry out an initial "stocktaking" with you after just a few weeks - How was the start of your vocational training? Have your expectations been met so far? Do you have any specific wishes or suggestions for improvement? With these and other questions, we can quickly clarify together whether your vocational training is on the right track or whether adjustments need to be made. As your vocational training progresses, we will continue to stay in close contact with you to discuss your development and, if necessary, provide new ways to improve things.
Regular discussions with other trainees are also very helpful in order to be able to correctly assess the progress of your vocational training and your own development. We encourage this exchange by organising an Apprentice Day once a year, which is entirely organised by trainees and includes a lunch together.
And there are other important conversations - during the more informal exchanges in between, for example during breaks or at the coffee machine, you will learn a lot about the law firm itself, about certain procedures and processes as well as about individual people and their backgrounds. You will also experience the good atmosphere and team spirit that prevail at BKS Rechtsanwälte and that will support you throughout your vocational training.
In addition to your actual vocational training, we also offer other special training opportunities. In addition to internal specialist seminars, Office training and English training in small groups, these also include special offers for trainees - such as telephone training - with which you can specifically improve and expand your skills. Of course, we sponsor these programmes as well as learning materials and preparation courses for the intermediate and final exams - after all, we'll be delighted if you do well in them.
